IRON MAN LATE MODEL INVITATIONAL RETURNS JULY 1 WITH $5,000-TO-WIN SHOWCASE FEATURING NASCAR STAR RYAN NEWMAN
A historic racing tradition roars back to life on Tuesday, July 1, as Hibbing Speedway brings back the Iron Man Late Model Invitational—a $5,000-to-win WISSOTA Late Model special event with a legendary twist. Originally a marquee event in the late 1970s, the Iron Man Invitational was known for attracting some of dirt racing’s biggest names. Now, XR Events is reviving the tradition in 2025 with a headline appearance by NASCAR legend and Daytona 500 Champion Ryan Newman, who will get behind the wheel of the #39 Hibbing Speedway Late Model, prepared by 28 Special Race Cars. Fans will have a rare chance to meet Newman during a Meet & Greet Autograph Session from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM behind the grandstand. Plus, High on the Hog BBQ will be the featured food truck, serving up crowd favorites all night long. Joining the action-packed night will be WISSOTA Midwest Mods and Hornets, rounding out a high-energy Tuesday night lineup. Racing begins at 7:00 PM.
